FAQ'S

WHY SHOULD I DO A FONDO?

For road cyclists, organized outdoor events are one of the most enjoyable things to do.  This is a chance for you to experience the fun of a long distance ride with a large group of people without having to be on the road. 

HOW DO I DETERMINE MY MILEAGE GOAL?

A great place to start is to look at some of your longest rides and calculate your average speed between them.  Once you have an estimated pace for your long distance rides, pick a time duration that is challenging, but achievable!

DO I NEED TO REGISTER?

Yes.  We utilize heavily customized automations to provide feedback and support, as well as a centralized place for mileage tracking and submission.  You can start begin you registration here.

IS THERE NON-APP REGISTRATION?

Yes!  On the registration page, you can utilize the "Don't Want The App?" link underneath the main registration option.  This will allow you to use our Facebook Messenger or Web bot to register and log your miles, however this system is only available close to ride day.

WHAT IS THE SUMMIIT APP?

The app is our custom-developed system.  It is set up to handle a wide number of things, from registration and team assignment, to logging your rides during the event, training, challenges and much more.  The app is home base for everything you need prior to and during the event. 

WHAT IS THE LIVE DASHBOARD

The Live Dashboard is streamed during the event on Facebook Live and YouTube, showcasing real-time statistics for all riders and teams in the event.  Here, you can find the total number of miles logged, how many classes have been taken, the number of people riding at any given time, the current and next class, and much more!

WHEN DOES IT START?

The event is Saturday and Sunday in your local time zone. Due to the large number of riders all across the globe, there are riders logging miles all 48 hours of the event, so the start time is based on your location.

WHEN DO I STOP?

When you've met your goal, or when you need to.  Be safe, listen to your body and don't injure yourself.

WHERE CAN I FIND RIDERS WHO ARE PARTICIPATING?

Take a look at the Rider Map to see who is riding in your area and add the #PeloFondo tag on your bike to find other riders. 

HOW DO I LET PEOPLE KNOW THAT I'M CRUSHING THIS FONDO?

Add the #PeloFondo tag to your profile on Peloton so we can high five you!  Also, if you are riding on a team, be sure to put your team name in your location profile. 

SHOULD I FOLLOW INSTRUCTOR CALLOUTS?

We suggest against it, but this is your ride so listen to your body and do what works for you! Pushing harder will make it more difficult to achieve longer distances, but not impossible.

HOW DO I SEE MY TOTAL MILES?

You can either log your miles manually for each ride, or, use the "Just Ride" function on the bike for the duration of the event and stream the classes from another device.  Please keep in mind that the "Just Ride" feature will only record for 6 hours simultaneously. 

DO I HAVE TO FOLLOW THE SCHEDULE?

Absolutely not!  The schedule is there to help everyone know when and where the majority of riders will be so you can max out on the high fives.  This is your ride, and you can follow the schedule or choose the classes that are best for you.

WHY AM I NOT ON THE RIDER MAP?

Due to the influx of new riders, the map is updated on a weekly basis.  If you do not see your pin, check back in a week.  Also, remember that the pin is only using a postal code, so it may not be in the location you are used to looking on your local maps.

CAN I RIDE BOTH EVENT DAYS?

You bet!  All mileage over the weekend counts toward your PeloFondo Goal, so whether you get it all done in one day or split it between the two you can tally those results for submission!  

CAN I CHANGE MY GOAL?

Yes!  Your goal can be fully adjusted at any point in the app.  Simply tap on the "Manage Your Registration button in the app to adjust your mileage, or unregister from the event.  

WHAT SHOULD I TRACK?

Riders should track both distance and total ride time.  Ride time should be calculated as moving time only, and should not include any breaks.  If you are using the Peloton Sync feature, the app will help track this for you.  Just tap on the "Sync Latest Ride" button to pull that data.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY RESULTS?

After each ride you take, your mileage should be logged into the system which will update the Live Ride Dashboard in real time!  For a detailed explanation on how to use this tool, check out this video.
